JDRF Boston Gala–One Night Auction Rules

• Mobile bidding for all packages in the Silent Auction will begin on Thursday, May 7 and will close on Saturday, May 9 at 9 p.m. EST.
  

• All winning bids are final. There will be no exchange or refund on items unless otherwise specified. 
  

• Should an auction package become nonredeemable due to unforeseen circumstances, i.e. COVID-19 (i.e. a business is now closed or has not re-opened prior to the noted expiration date, ticket dates are postponed or cancelled) JDRF will turn your support into a 100% tax-deductible donation.
  

• A pre-registered credit card is required to begin bidding. If you would like to complete payment through another method (i.e. check) please contact croche@jdrf.org prior to 5 p.m. EST on Tuesday, May 12. We accept all major credit cards. 
  

• You may skip ahead to the bid amount you want to pay. The next bidder must bid higher than you to be successful.
  

• Please pay careful attention to all conditions, restrictions, and expiration dates on items and services. Unless otherwise stated, gift certificates exclude alcohol, tax, and gratuity. Unless otherwise noted, all auction items and services must be used within one year of May 9, 2020. We appreciate your strict observance of these restrictions, as future donations depend upon it.
  

• JDRF will communicate with all winning bidders after the auction closes by Friday, May 15, 2020 regarding auction item pick-up/delivery/shipping. Winning bidders may retrieve their item(s) at the JDRF New England Chapter office (per Massachusetts current COVID-19 regulations). Should the winner choose to have their item(s) shipped, they are responsible for any shipping and insurance charges. 
  

• JDRF will not ship alcohol to a winning bidder. You must be 21+ to purchase any packages containing alcohol and tours of alcoholic establishments (distillery, brewery, etc.). 
  

• JDRF is not responsible for replacing gift certificates lost post-event. JDRF is under no obligation to extend, modify, or change items or restrictions on items/certificates. 

• Dates for all trips and similar events must be mutually arranged with the donor, unless otherwise noted. All reservations should be made at least one month in advance. All tickets in travel packages are for coach travel, unless otherwise specified. No refunds are permitted for canceled, lost, or unused tickets and/or accommodations. 
  

• Airline blackout dates apply to all tickets, regardless of airline, unless specifically noted. Blackout dates are subject to change. Tickets cannot be reissued or refunded. 
  

• All gift card usage is the responsibility of the buyer. Although the gift card and amount is currently valid, JDRF cannot be held responsible for unused gift cards at businesses that may cease to operate before the expiration date. 
  

• Auction items may not be transferred from the original buyer to another auction outside of JDRF without prior written consent from the donor.
  

• JDRF has endeavored to catalogue and describe the auction items correctly, but all items are sold “as is.” No statements contained in the program or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability. Bidders should carefully note the specific restrictions, conditions, and expiration dates for items purchased. 
  

• JDRF reserves the right to withdraw any item from sale. 
  

• Items depicted online are for illustration purposes and may not be the actual auction items. 
  

Please note: For tax purposes regarding auction purchases, all contributions in excess of the fair market value of the item are tax-deductible as a gift to a charitable organization. JDRF encourages all attendees, donors, and contributors to consult the appropriate IRS Revenue Ruling 67-246 and their tax consultant.
